About the Pickleball Court
A pickleball court is a compact playing surface measuring 20 by 44 feet, the same size as a badminton doubles court. It features a low net and clearly marked lines for serving, rallying, and the non‑volley zone, also known as the “kitchen.” The smaller dimensions make the game fast, social, and easy to learn, allowing players of all ages and levels to enjoy long rallies and quick movement. Courts can be set up indoors or outdoors, making the sport highly versatile and accessible.
About the Game
Pickleball is a fast, social paddle sport played on a small court, typically measuring 20 feet wide and 44 feet long for doubles play. The game combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, making it easy to learn and enjoyable for all ages and skill levels. Players rally back and forth over a low net, which stands at 36 inches high at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center, aiming to place the ball strategically and win points through accuracy rather than power. The paddle used in pickleball is solid and made of wood or composite materials, while the ball is lightweight and perforated, resembling a wiffle ball. Its simple rules and quick pace create an engaging experience that encourages movement, connection, and friendly competition. Furthermore, pickleball can be played both indoors and outdoors, making it a versatile choice for recreational play. Many communities have embraced this sport, offering dedicated courts and organized leagues, thus fostering a sense of camaraderie among players. The social aspect of pickleball is one of its most appealing features, as it allows people to meet new friends and enjoy a fun workout together. As the popularity of pickleball continues to grow, it is becoming a staple in many fitness programs and recreational activities across the globe.
About the Equipment
Pickleball uses lightweight paddles and a perforated plastic ball, making the game easy to control and accessible for beginners. The paddles are slightly larger than table‑tennis paddles and designed to offer a balance of touch and power. The ball travels at a moderate speed, encouraging longer rallies and strategic placement rather than force. This simple equipment setup is one of the reasons the sport is so approachable and enjoyable for players of all ages.
